confessions, conjectures & coffee.

Change.

At the end of this billing cycle, my Typepad account will be deleted. I really liked the flexibility available for designs and layouts, but I have to face the cold hard truth. The truth is, I work in finance every day, and I will never sleep peacefully knowing that each year I am spending money on a service that could be done for free. It’s the nature of the tightwad beast. Even more-so after I read this article about Warren Buffet. If he can throw his fortune at the less fortunate, gosh darn it, so can I.

Short explanation: I am too cheap to pay $8.95 per month.

Now that I eliminated one more liability each month from my balance sheet, I think I can finally start saving for that new car I’ve been drooling over. At this rate ($8.95/mo) I’ll have enough saved up to buy it in about 234 years, provided the price doesn’t inflate beyond $25 grand.

For the convenience, and (I’m certain) to the relief, of both of my readers, I successfully imported all of my posts from Typepad to this new blog account; something I wasn’t able to accomplish with Blogger. So, dive headfirst into the archives for hours of mindless enjoyment. Search the categories for days of fun, and send me a letter when you’re ready for more. Wordpress is my new canvas.

  1. Hey bro … the site looks fantastic! I’m sorry that I didn’t return your email in a timely manner … email has not been a forte of mine lately.

To answer your question, I installed WP on my own server (webel.net) and manage the blog from there. The software is a free download and actually works quite well … your host just needs to meet the minimum requirements.

    Good luck with that car!
