confessions, conjectures & coffee.

early morning banking.

What happens when you neglect balancing your bank account for days weeks at a time? Being the inquisitive person I am… I decided to find the answer.

Today I started drinking coffee at 5:45a and was adding and subtracting by 6:30a when my wife left for work. Three and a half hours and seven cups of coffee later, and my accounts balance to the penny! I was so excited I walked around the house singing Christmas carols all morning. And I don’t even like Christmas carols.

And yeah… I lost a lot of sleep worrying about it during the past couple weeks, and I wanted to scream while working on it, and I probably have a couple ulcers now.

…but now we know what happens. And I think that’s what matters most.

    That’s funny.

  2. I know the feeling! I neglect balancing the checkbook for a while and it’s always on my mind, but when I finally do it, I feel like calling someone just to tell them the good news! It’s like a weight lifted off my shoulders!

  3. I work in finance company. I don’t work at a bank.

  4. Oh! Thank goodness! :-D I wonder if they balance your stuff for you if you work for the bank? I doubt it.

    Happy Holidays!

  5. Yeah, for the first year of my current marriage I let Derick take care of that and I think that I worried a considerable amount. He’s not OCD about money, like I have learned to be. During the entirety of my previous marriage, well… let’s just say that I’m suprised that I didn’t die from bleeding ulcers…
