My Wife + Pregnancy = Amazing.

Since New Year’s, she has gotten sick an average of twice a day. That means she’s had roughly 50 moments where she’s had to run to the nearest bathroom to throw up. It’s not a pretty thing to blog about, and I think she’d rather I not mention it to the world, but she deserves some recognition for this. I mean, she’s still going to work every day (she missed 2 days so far, but one of those was for her Dr. appointment — only one sick day!), and that makes me slightly embarrassed that I was whining to her about having a headache after work yesterday.

I know what you no-kid-or-pregnant-wife-people are thinking… “Lots of people have been pregnant before and have gone through morning sickness,” But until your wife (or you, if you’re a lucky female) goes through it, you best just hold your tongue.

*Honey, you are a superhero in my book.

Thanks for setting everyone straight on that, Isaac. It’s rough business bein’ pregnant. Your wife handles (and hides) it beautifully!!

I enjoyed your post(s) and you are a good man! The never- assume- someone- is -pregnant- post was great! That line of thinking didn’t hit home for me so much until I came back to work after Baby #2 just to have people who hadn’t seen me in a few weeks ask when I was due! Oh, the agony. Now, after 4 babies - I want to wear a sign that says “Not pregnant, just heavy, thanks!”

My girls were the two Morning- Sickness- from- Hell pregnancies and I can so empathize with your wife. I used to maintain a mental list of the places I had stopped to puke. My favorite memory is when I ran to restroom in McD’s and on my way in, my loving (yet at that time, less experienced) hubby asked, “Does this mean I can have your burger?” I managed to tell him “Don’t TOUCH it!” on my way, knowing the best time to eat is after vomiting, as it is the only time the nausea is gone. Ahh, memories.

We’ll he’s a great guy who would now give me super woman status as well. I’m so glad there’s more of you out there. I’ll send him to your site and you and your wife please both feel free to visit ours. Yesterday’s post will make you wonder if the morning sickness can even compare to the toddler years…

Best of luck,
Houkhouse

Thanks for the post honey. Having such an amazing husband like you makes this so much more bearable.
