Honesty. (updated)

Filed under: Art & Design, Christianity, Twelve Oaks — Isaac @ 12:24 am

I would really like some honest feedback from any designers, non-designers and anyone in-between. We’re mailing out a postcard for Easter this year and I’ve been assigned the job of putting the whole bit together. I’m not really sure what to do with the back… so any advice offered will be welcomed and encouraged.

Here’s the front:

Comments? Suggestions? Critiques?

UPDATE:

Here’s a new copy of the back, based on some input from Lance. Thanks for the suggestions!

  1. I like how you’ve carried the “sun rays” element from the back to the front. And I really like the front’s design, in general … it mixes many layers well and really leverages the yellow to symbolize the hope.

I’d say that the back looks cramped. If it were me, I would take out “Join the celebration this Easter Sunday” (it’s redundant), move the address up under the map, and put the rest of the text in one text box to simplify it (though that’s not necessary). I’d also take off the rounded corners (or take away the text boxes altogether) to jive with the front’s “straight line” design and try to space it out a little more evenly (more margin inside, even margin outside).

    Looks good, man!
