26NovStaying Full.

Encouragement from Steven Furtick’s blog:

The most important thing on the job description of any pastor is to stay full spiritually.

As Elevation continues to grow, I realize that the time that I invest in my relationship with Christ isn’t preparation for the work, it is the work.

So I never apologize for the incredible volume of time I set aside to connect with God in ways that are meaningful to me.

Because when it comes down to it, Elevation doesn’t need more of me.

We need more of Jesus.

And as I stay full of His presence and power, He will overflow through my actions and words in a way that is undeniably Him.

21NovChuck Norris Approved.

One of the many reasons why I like Mike.

Do you like Mike?

21NovEverything is a Gift.

What are you thankful for?

My list probably looks something like this…

  • my wife
  • my son
  • iPods
  • running shoes
  • my church
  • my job
  • high speed internet access
  • Starbucks
  • guitars

I realize that those aren’t in the proper order (church tucked away after iPods and shoes)… that’s the point. In all honesty, that probably is in order according to my life lately… But after watching this video from Shaun Groves, I think my list should look about like this…

  • salvation
  • life
  • breath
  • water

Humbled.

20NovContext.

From RagamuffinSoul.com

Ideas come from other ideas… The blogging world has given us a great opportunity for this. When I started the Worship Confessional idea it was with this in mind. People sharing their sets, videos, ideas, and hiccups together. Blogging is just one step in this viral communication world we are living in. Find patters and ideas that are working and rip them off. It’s ok.

It’s okay to talk about what went well in the worship setlist.

I thought I’d clarify this after venting, griping and complaining last week about all the ‘worship confessionals’ floating around online.

I think the main thing that’s overlooked is the context of the local church. Continue reading ‘Context.’

19NovJesus Culture.

Jesus Culture
Jesus Culture is the worship ministry from Bethel Church in Redding, CA.

I’ve never heard of them before this week, but I absolutely love their sound.
