Worship Music?
This quote from Spurgeon hit me pretty hard – being the guitar-slingin’, worship-leadin’, praise-song-singin’ fella that I am.
Praise may be rendered with musical instruments, if you will; but the danger is lest the grateful adoration should evaporate, and nothing should remain but the sweet sounds. The organ can do no more than help us in noise-making, and it is a mere idol, if we imagine that it increases the acceptance of our praises before the Lord.
I’m not saying that we should throw out our instruments.
But this certainly gives some traction to the idea that a lot of modern churches and musical worship leaders take corporate worship FAR too lightly, while simultaneously focusing far too much energy on the wrong aspects of it.

Alright then. Questions anyone?
Thanks, Isaac for some perspective.
